In view of the constraints posed by natural gemstones in jewellery design, ARTĒ unsolved the dilemma with the development of new and viable materials that were inexpensive. Subsequently, breakthrough was achieved in the late 1990s with the successful development of a new generation synthetic gemstone at our laboratory in Switzerland.

In 2002, ARTĒ set up its first flagship shop in Hong Kong. Up till today, ARTĒ operates over 30 shops in Europe, Greater China and other parts of Asia with more to come very soon.
